Peepholes
The Peepholes series explores the limits of perception. While people often claim to “know” someone, truly understanding another person is rarely possible. Meeting someone for the first time prompts us to consider their life before our encounter. Even family members, who have known us since birth, are only known to us from the moment we become aware of them. As a result, it is impossible to fully grasp who someone was, is, or will become. We rely on stories ornamented with imperfect memories, omissions, and the limitations of recollection, which all are obstacles an old mind can offer you.
The series features close-up, distorted faces viewed through a window, highlighting wrinkles and folds that serve as maps of the past. These markings reflect personal experiences and memories. Displaying our most familiar expressions to others reveals a vulnerability that is both open and unintentional.
